Day of Hacking Sunday
Ryan's Instructable for a DIY PCB Toner Deposition Method has been selected as a featured Instructable! It was also featured on Hackaday. Congrats Ryan!
KC Maker Faire was a big success! We had 2 days of fun met many exciting new people. Learned about new ideas and technologies and had a great time doing it.
The following are photos from the event. If you are an AR member and have photos to post please
send them to admin@archreactor.org and I'll get them posted.
Science Olympian Pics
Last Weekend we held our annual science Olympiad.
Here are some of the pics from the event and a link to the Rube Goldberg Contraption we built.
Science Olympiad Saturday

Questions? education@archreactor.org
Open to all ages and to the public. People are encouraged to form teams of 2 or 3 people. Individual players will be matched up prior to the event. We are asking for a $5 donation per team to cover supplies which will be provided. Three events are planned: 1) Egg Drop - Teams will construct apparatuses to be dropped from the top of the building and safely land on a ground target. 2 Boomilever - Teams will design a boomilever (google it). Score will be a combination of weight, weight held and duration of holding the weight. 3) Rube Goldberg machine. Teams will construct a three phase machine with stuff off the junk bins or from within the space. Coolest operational design wins. The rest of the night can be spent combining all the entries into a promotional video for AR. This event is guaranteed to be fun, prizes are likely to be a slap on the back and status label of "Cool People of the Day". Scoring system is still being finalized but is weighted equally over three events. If there's a tie (which I'm hoping for) , the tie-breaker is awesome. |
Come check out the space at one of our regular Tuesday meetings or Sunday hack nights, year-round. Tuesday and Sunday events are always open to the public, and generally begin around 7:30 pm.
The space is currently:
Arch Reactor was founded in 2009 by a group of friends who liked technology, programming, making, and pizza. Now St. Louis' largest hackerspace, Arch Reactor's growing membership continues to bring new skills, projects, equipment, and people to one place.
For a deeper understanding of what we're about, you should check out our explanation of hackerspaces, perhaps read about one of our members' projects, or (best of all) come meet us in person at the next open event!
