Talk:Bylaws
From St. Louis Hackerspace Wiki
Section 3, Article 2, Subsection 1 "Only human persons may apply for or be considered a full member, supporting member, or community member. " is unneeded because it is already in MO law. -- neXus
Good place for a calendar to take a stab at a clear day is here: http://www.sluug.org/resources/calendar/ --neXus
Should we do some sort of looser formula for the full membership? Where we say x hours a month or $n for each hour missed? --neXus
As Software can't really be used without hardware I feel we shouldn't have them as seperate levels. I do feel two seperate paying levels should be used as not everyone needs/wants full access all the time. Mostly the names bug me. -KholdFuzion
Just to clarify, KholdFuzion, the "software", "hardware" designations were a simplification described at the steering committee. They aren't actually in the bylaws at the moment and I don't think it is anyone's intention to define them as such. -neXus
I wanted to chime in on the "software" and "hardware" terms for the membership levels. I apologize if that rubbed anyone the wrong way, that wasn't my intent at all, I just heard someone use those words last week and it kinda worked in my brain. The reason that I included two levels of membership was to account for the fact that not everyone will be willing to pay 30-50 bucks a month for a membership, but they still might want to support the community. I think it's important to be as inclusive as possible and providing for different levels of involvement is a good way to do that. -The Irrational One
