Members ([[Bylaws#Section_2_-_Definition_of_full_membership|full]] or [[Bylaws#Section_3_-_Definition_of_supporting_membership|supporting]]) must be trained on any [[Definitions#Complex_Equipment|Complex Equipment]] before initially using said Equipment.  &lt;br /&gt;

Upon completion of using said Equipment, the [[Definitions#Equipment_User|Equipment User]] is to perform routine cleaning processes as applicable to said Equipment.  &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The Sergeant at Arms retains the right to revoke access to any Equipment to any Member ([[Bylaws#Section_2_-_Definition_of_full_membership|full]] or [[Bylaws#Section_3_-_Definition_of_supporting_membership|supporting]]).&lt;br /&gt;

[[Definitions#Equipment_Maintenance|Equipment Maintenance]] of [[Definitions#Arch_Reactor_Equipment|Arch Reactor Equipment]] and [[Definitions#Loaned_Equipment|Loaned Equipment]] is the responsibility of The Sergeant at Arms first, then the [[Definitions#Equipment_Owner|Equipment Owner]].  &lt;br /&gt;

* Estimated Date of Theft&lt;br /&gt;

* Requested Reparations to [[Definitions#Equipment_Owner|Equipment Owner]]&lt;br /&gt;
* Names of people in the [[Definitions#The_Arch_Reactor_Space|The Arch Reactor Space]] or other area a time of Estimated Date of Theft&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Upon the decision of the Arch Reactor Board that the Equipment was [[Definitions#Loaned_Equipment|Loaned Equipment]] and was stolen by a party other than the [[Definitions#Equipment_Owner|Equipment Owner]], then Arch Reactor is to replace the [[Definitions#Loaned_Equipment|Loaned Equipment]] or reimburse to the [[Definitions#Equipment_Owner|Equipment Owner]] the Estimated Loss Value. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Upon the decision of the Arch Reactor Board that the Equipment was [[Definitions#Loaned_Equipment|Loaned Equipment]] and was stolen by the Suspected Thief, then the Arch Reactor Board is to request of the Suspected Thief reimbursement of any expenses involving the Theft of Equipment and has the option to revoke the Suspected Thief's membership.&lt;br /&gt;

Equipment is to be considered Damaged when the Equipment no longer operates normally, is missing components, is visually marred, or otherwise incurs a significant loss of value.&lt;br /&gt;

Cause of Damage is to be determined to be caused by [[Definitions#Equipment_User_Negligence|Equipment User Negligence]], [[Definitions#Equipment_Wear|Equipment Wear]], or [[Definitions#Equipment_Maintenance_Negligence|Equipment Maintenance Negligence]].&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Damage to Equipment is to be reported to The Sergeant at Arms.  The Sergeant at Arms will then perform an investigation and provide a report to the Arch Reactor Board.  This report should contain:&lt;br /&gt;

Since users can't upload images (which is silly to restrict that since most wikispam is garbage for crap that is of no interest to anyone who uses the wiki), templates don't have the fancy icons that sites like Wikipedia have.  A decent template was developed for status templates. (That might be reformatted in the near future).  Anyway, I highly recommend that if anyone writes an article, the put it into some kind of category.  I currently have alot of time on my hands. Our application for a booth at the Detroit Maker Faire was accepted.  A group of us are already planning on going.  We get a few free admissions, not sure of the exact number.&lt;br /&gt;

Safety – as most noticed, the shop was closed. Safety is important, even though we make light of a lot around here. We have liability insurance just in case; however we don't want to use it. If someone were to seriously hurt themselves, it could shut down the space and we'd be done. Not to mention we don't want to lose life or limb. To that end the officers sat down and discussed what we could do to get a handle on that issue. Stephen will provide a presentation of general rules and guidelines to follow. If you don't know how to use a tool ask for help. We are a smart group, and we usually think we can learn things on the fly. This is usually true. Mistakes can be fatal when it comes to our tools though. After the basic training the shop will be open and we'll be &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Stephen: I'm not around a whole lot, and part of that reason is the bulk of my free time goes to training and racing during this season. However I take this position very seriously and have spent a lot of time on our equipment policies, even as far back as in the winter. I expected to get it done in the off season, however with the space move things got put behind schedule. Every minute I spend on AR has been for the Sergeant at Arms position exclusively. I apologize for my directness and bossiness when I appear to come in and simply bark rules. I'm simply trying to communicate my ideas as fast as I can. &lt;br /&gt;

I am going to offload some of my responsibilities regarding training for classes to other members with actual shop experience. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
There are many common courtesy policies, such as trash that we all need to help as a team to keep this public space functioning and useable. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
I did a lot of research and have come up with some guidelines. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Stephen proceeded to review several documents regarding space policy and safety. All of which are available on the wiki under [[ Rules And Policies ]]. &lt;br /&gt;

If you see someone doing something unsafe and you know better, they probably just don't know. Let them know and give them that knowledge. That will take care of the problem right away. &lt;br /&gt;

Equipment: All the equipment that has been registered through Stephen is on the list and will be covered by our insurance. If It’s not on the list then it’s not covered by the space insurance. Fill out the equipment form. &lt;br /&gt;

Expecting to do a safety class for complex equipment on Friday nights. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Equipment waiver possibly be available for those who can prove their competence on a specific piece of equipment. &lt;br /&gt;

Plan to repeat the safety class once a month modifying the Tuesday schedule. &lt;br /&gt;

Open house a success? Sure. It was worth doing. It gets us in the front of the community. People were impressed by how far we've come in the past few months. Next time possibly a PA system? Yeah, but the problem more was this place is still pretty echo-ie. Eventually we'd like curtains to segment off the sitting area to dampened the sound for presentations. &lt;br /&gt;

We are noticing a pattern. It’s not that we have money because we don’t. What we've noticed is when we get things done, someone stands up and says “Let’s do this” and several people join him or her in support. This is much more productive than attitude than “AR should do this” which means “YOU should do this so I can play with it”. How can we make coalitions easier to form? Submit ideas on the forum. That’s how the paint happened, and the carpet. &lt;br /&gt;

Some of you probably saw on the forums about Paypal not accepting membership dues. We think we've gotten sorted out. We can send money directly, but we are uncertain if the automatic payment through the membership site works yet. Paypal account was set up as a non-profit, and there are some restrictions on that. Some of the requirements were missed but Keith has submitted the necessary documents that Paypal requires, but Paypal has yet to respond. &lt;br /&gt;

Reviewed new policies for the space and workshop. Not going to repeat everything. John R, Scuba, Chris, and Stephen have formed a committee to determine a safety training procedure. Stephen can't do it all by himself. As new members join, we'll have a general intro to the Arch Reactor space, general safety and courtesy stuff. Cover the rules we came up with a couple weeks ago &lt;br /&gt;

In the next week or two we'll come up with a curriculum. Then complex equipment training to follow. Each piece of equipment will have a class and a test out. &lt;br /&gt;

Complex isn't always dangerous, but is easy to break. At least 15 pieces at the moment considered complex equipment. It’s a daunting task for 4 people to manage all of it. Asking for volunteers adopt a piece of equipment they may have proficiency in and can handle a class, therefore taking some of the burden off of us. &lt;br /&gt;

Have been talking to the board about a fundraiser. Thinking late September, give us plenty of time and it will be nice and cool. Will be in cooperation with the Gateway Burners and the Banana Bike Brigade. Going to talk to the other organizations, form a committee made up of the 3 groups, schedule events, permits, etc... This is a fundraiser just for “Makers”. The money raised from this will be treated as a grant given to people who are building projects. &lt;br /&gt;

Ryan suggested the Etsy store. Requirement for the Etsy Store is everything would have to be handmade. &lt;br /&gt;

The Board’s status regarding our 501c3 is that it’s still in progress. Suggested perhaps we start with a 501c7 and work our way towards 501c3. &lt;br /&gt;
