President
Possibly having a combined Arch Reactor, Gateway Burners, and Banana Bike Brigade fundraiser event.
Mitch Altman - August 20th is the date he will come and speak to us and show us how to put together kits he's designed. Haven't nailed down an exact time. Probably 6:00. It’s a Friday night. No charge for admission, but maybe donations for refreshments. Sign-up sheet will be setup and put on the forums. Need solder stations for the event so if you have some to loan, please do.
Vice President
VP is on vacation in whales. His report is “this is fshun…”

Pay dues. Paypal is working. We have the Square for credit cards. In July, we had 21 full members. We had 15 paid supporting. That is a little misleading as there are some supporting members that became full members so there is some overlap. In terms of monthly income we are breaking even. If we had a few more full members it would be nice so we can pull ahead. Our net worth is a few hundred dollars in the bank.
From what we saw from other hackerspaces at Maker Fair, most charge around $80 to $90 a month. We are a bargain for a hackerspace.
Sargent at Arms
We did a safety workshop a couple Tuesdays ago. Brought in some signs for rules and procedures that are posted. Space is a bit disorganized that and some shelving should help.
Really need to start cleaning up after ourselves. Last person should be taking out trash. Trash just has to be taken to the freight elevator and trash gets collected and moved down. If it’s piling up obviously we should go ahead and take it to the dumpster
“How to run the Roomba” instruction to be posted
Recommend we build some shelving. Two 24 inch deep shelves running the length of the Jefferson wall, under the windows, will suitable for our storage bins. Also suggest taller and deeper set on the outside shop wall and a couple of 48 inch square shelves for deeper items. Cost will be about $108 for the shop wall shelves, approx. $100 for the window wall, and around $272 for the total. Shelves should give us about 17 to 22 slots for member storage. Enough members donated money to proceed with the project.

Daniel wants to know who owns the PowerMac on the shelf. His father’s business runs on old mac software and need the additional hardware. Offering $75 for the G3 mac sitting on our shelf that would go to Arch Reactor. Nobody present has any issues with the arrangement.
Features of the new website include a blog column. Member system will allow specific site management for projects. Calendar and News box added.
Suggested features: Aggregate blog posts of members that feed to our site. Maybe a membership Eye-Fi?
PR and Fundraising
Stacey really needs other people to help with the fundraiser party between AR, Burners, and BBB. Need volunteers before the event. Anything we can donate that is artistic or techie. Anyone who is willing to donate outside of the group for a write off? Maybe hold a silent auction. Anyone in a band who'd be interested in performing for free? If not a band, then other acts?
John volunteered to print flyers. Anyone who wants to give him a hand, contact him. Goal is to have the flyers done by the third of 4th week of august. Hope is that it will be upstairs. Date is Sept 18th.
Taylor will donate massage time.
Collect emails and phone numbers for people willing to help. Taylor, Joe, Deech, and John willing to volunteering
Lots of discussion took place regarding a theme for the event. Leaning towards Maker Meltdown. Post to the forum for suggestions.
Report: We need to drum up membership and focus on that. Personally still swamped with opening a buisness. If someone is interested in taking over PR, would be willing to turn it over.
Education
If anyone is interested in getting a booth for Robot Day at the State Fair let Rob know. Maybe partner with KCCC on it. Date is August 15th and the 18th. The Quad-City co-lab a hacker space on the Iowa border is having its grand opening.
Social Affairs
Party went over really well. Next planning a nerd themed pot luck when the funds are available.
Other Buisness
2600 Meeting
After the presentations Paul and Joe will record the next few episodes of Anonymous Audio.
Other Discussions
Taylor is voted in as full member. We have a table at archon. And a Panel.
Schedule: Next Tuesday - Show and Tell, Maker Faire wrap-up, Dan presents on Open Disruption 3rd Tuesday – Training on Complex Tools 4th Tuesday – Movie Night
Taylor promotes her new business. Game, favorite costume introduction.
