From St. Louis Hackerspace Wiki
Welcome to my Hackerspace wiki page.
I'm currently working on developing the Arch Reactor Library. Feel free to talk about it with me at the Forums.
I used to operate a couple of wikis in the past. The have since been closed due to spam issues with my webhosting provider.
Hopefully we won't have that problem here. I was wrong.
Why are you making all of these changes to the wiki, new person! Stop it!
I've got alot of free time on my hands. Espeically with the economy the way it is at the moment. Besides, there's alot of stuff that could be added here.
What's with all the templates? Seriously? WTF?
Why are you dissing the templates? Templates are good. They are informative, easy to use, and they prevent making pages look like they were written by a drunk fifth grader who found a copy of "Front Page for Dummies".
What's with your voice?
I don't know. Born with it, I guess. I'll try not to get to excited because then it just gets loud.
What are you planning on doing here outside of hanging around, annoying us, and eating all of our food?
Well...contributing for starters. I'm eagerly awating for warmer weather, it makes taking the buss across town to get here easier. I'd like to move to the city and find a nice little apartment in Dogtown eventually. Cut my trip in half.
Wait? You take the bus? LOL!
Hey, at least I don't have to pay car insurance...yet.
So what exactly do you do for a living?
Well, I am currently unemployed. Right about the time I graduated college, the Tech Boom was long since over, just about any job that I could apply for moved out of town and the country (NEVER give away your education for free if it doesn't stay in town!), and George W. Bush had f***ed up the econmy bad enough, he may as well have poured gasoline all over Washington, DC and set in on fire. Which as it turns out, he just about did.
Meanwhile, back home, I had signed up for just about every job webiste only to have them take my information and sell it to the people who have the job that I wanted in some place that I never heard of while all these bogus job offers kept trickling in to my email. Aparently, running your own websites for over five years, and going to college for six (I stuck around for an extra couple of years) doesn't count as job experience. (I've pretty much figured out that the job offers you get in your e-mail for 5+ years experience in some kind of language you've never done are either bullsh*t or their only purpose for hiring you is to educate some H1Bs to do the job so that the company can dodge paying taxes by moving more jobs out of the country. Here's a though: Have the H1Bs GO TO COLLEGE LIKE I DID!) Not even if you worked as a clerk at the library of the college you went to and the job is something as simple as working at the local telephone retailer.
For some reason, my resume is a toxic asset despite having a clean record and being an outstanding citizen in my community.
Because the previous adminstration of government has no interest in having American corporations hire American workers even with the promise of lower taxes and states rights (to which in Missouri, the state rights are design to screw people over so that some rural senator can have a Leer jet to take him from his timeshare in the Ozarks to the Crystal Palace on weekends while schools fail, mass transit is slashed, and services for the disabled and the elderly are wrapped in gridlock buearucracy), I've spent alot of time working with Democratic causes. Especially ones that make old senator pick up where the previous president left of with buring down the country on his way to his hermitage. (What kind of American does this to his fellow man? Ask Kit Bond. He probably knows.)
I've worked very hard to do what I could to have a norm life. But some people have never need to fight for something unless it was in a war...assuming they didn't get a note to excuse them from doing that even.
I just want a job that I'm interested in. Not the job that I want, but a job that I have no objection to doing. And there are certain things that I won't do even in desperate times. (i.e. Join the military, work at McDonalds, or pick up dog crap for a living.) I literally, can't do these things.
My place is in the office. And that is where I want to be.
Skills and Interests
- Mental mathematics
- CSS (Round Corners!)
- HTML (like a real programmer, not like someone who TYPES IN ALL CAPS WITH THEIR TAGS)
I'd really like to get some program done for Android as well as fix up my website in the near future.
I garden. I fiddle around with the piano sometimes. (Play, not exactly. I can play part of some songs. Bill Wither's Lean On Me is pretty easy to play, and I once played a bit of Pink Floyd on the acoustic guitar, but other than that, I still got a way to go before I can be completely talented.)
In 2007, I decided to build my own computer from parts on Ebay.
In 2009, I constructed a small satchel for carrying water bottles on a bicycle.
