Remote Sensing Widget
From St. Louis Hackerspace Wiki
Goals:
- Reasonable cost
- WiFi connectivity
- I/O sensors for:
* Analog Voltage (2-3, 120/240) * Temperaturs (2-3 thermocouples) * Digital Input (3-4 error conditions)
- Most likely an SBC or mini board
- Prefer Linux Kernel
* Like to explore remote debugging * Via WiFi??
The initial application for the Sensing Widget is to monitor building power and backup generator status. It will connect via WiFi to the building network, and with the status polled from Cacti or Nagios, or perhaps direct email output as an option.
