The Internet

The Internet is a world wide network of interconnected computers used to communicate with each other. It's primary purpose is for the dissemination of pornography and funny pictures of cats. Occasionally, some businesses will claim to use it for "real work", but upon closer inspection, one often finds that "real work" is actually defined as "pornography and funny pictures of cats".

To access the Internet, you need a computer with an Internet browser, which if you are reading this page, you already have one. You may also need to subscribe to an Internet Service Provider or ISP. Some ISPs require that you have a telephone, cable, satellite, or wireless service before you can connect to the Internet. Again, if you are reading this page, you probably already have that too.
