Meeting Agenda

Meeting commended at 8:06 PM

Officer reports

President

Biggest news has been that we are looking at other spaces. Deech is of the opinion we go ahead and proceed with the move. We should have more firm info next week. If you have information or leads regarding potential spaces, email Deech.

We are thinking of alternating from the Tuesday business meetings to one week business then one week just being a social gathering. It is important to have something weekly and open so people can visit to see what we are all about.

Arduino Class

The Audrino class starts tomorrow. First class we'll spend setting up everyone's laptop. Drivers installed. A few sample codes. Make a blinking light. Then Sunday is a free workshop day for everyone. Probably play with sensors. The Second class will be more of a class focusing on the sensors themselves. Not much difference to having a flashy light or to drive a motor. Classes start at 7:00

Programming Class

Pete is working on an Introductory Programming class before the regular Tuesday meetings

Art Club

First Art Club meeting was this week. General brainstorming ideas were taken. For the month of March it was decided to make a leather container for your tools.

Other Discussions

It was suggested that a directory of everyones skill-set be made created for collaboration. There is already such a voluntary list on the wiki.

Paul said he is going to get a Square device for us. That is a little block hooked up to an iPhone that lets us process a credit card. We will get an introductory rate with a transaction fee of 2.9%. This will allow members to pay their dues via credit or debit card.

Derek and Keith are working on getting the CNC machine working. All the hardware is good. The software needs to be learned and explored. Ryan knows a few open source solutions that may be suitable.

Some tools were loaned to the group for a while. Among them an electric kiln and vice. Kiln is capable of melting metal if needed.

The meeting adjourned with a round of introductions.
